In 2001, Beaumont was designated as a Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The CCOP network was created by the NCI in 1983 to serve local communities with state-of-the art cancer prevention and treatment clinical trials. For eight years, Beaumont maintained this national designation and continues at the forefront of cancer research.
